Role Overview
Ellenby Tree Farm is looking for a motivated Propagation Team Member to support the production of high-quality trees from seed through to early development stages. This is a hands-on role focused on plant propagation, transplanting, and maintaining optimal growing conditions across our nursery.
You’ll play a key role in seed sowing, cutting propagation, plant establishment, and early-stage plant care. We’re looking for someone reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Growing quality plants from seed for future production
- Propagating through cuttings and cloning with consistency
- Shaping and pruning trees to bring out their best form
- Setting up staking and support for strong, healthy growth
- Keeping nursery clean, weed-free and thriving
- Apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers safely and accurately
- Working as part of a high-performing team to deliver top-quality trees
Requirements
- Proven experience in horticulture or a related field
- Solid knowledge of plant propagation and nursery practices
- Chemical handling certification (AusChem or ChemCert preferred)
- Solid understanding of plant care, pruning, and horticultural standards
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality outcomes
- Physically fit and capable of repetitive, hands-on work
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities and seasonal demands
- Able to work independently with a positive, reliable attitude
