Job Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with spectacle and sunglass frame selection, taking into account prescription requirements, lifestyle needs, facial features, and personal style.
- Provide expert advice on lens options, coatings, and optical products to achieve the best visual outcomes for patients.
- Accurately interpret optical prescriptions and perform dispensing measurements, including PDs, heights, and frame fitting requirements.
- Order and track lenses, frames, and optical products while liaising with laboratories and suppliers.
- Conduct frame adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal fit, comfort, and performance.
- Verify completed spectacles against prescriptions and quality standards prior to collection.
- Assist patients with spectacle collections and provide education on lens care and adaptation.
- Support inventory management and merchandising of frames and sunglasses.
- Work collaboratively with optometrists and support staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing (or equivalent qualification) preferred.
- Previous experience in optical dispensing or optical retail is essential.
- Sound understanding of spectacle lenses, frame fitting, and optical dispensing principles.
- A passion for lifestyle dispensing and helping patients find the best visual solutions for their individual needs, work requirements, hobbies, and lifestyle.
- Confident discussing and recommending premium lens options, coatings, occupational eyewear, sunglasses, and multiple-pair solutions.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance patient outcomes through personalised recommendations and product solutions.
- Strong sales and relationship-building skills, with a genuine belief that excellent dispensing combines exceptional patient care with outstanding product knowledge.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Well organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy practice environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional, and positive approach.
- Good computer skills, including experience with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and willingness to continue learning and developing professionally.

Remuneration: $60,000–$65,000 plus Superannuation, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
