Established in 2014, CMS was formed by the fusion of two companies with experienced personnel in inspection/assessment/Engineering services spread throughout oil and gas, pipeline, concrete, construction, water and wastewater industries. We provide corrosion control, integrity assessment, and consultancy services for all industries we service. CMS is seeking Painters to join our team.
This position requires self-discipline and motivation. The Painter will be responsible for the application of paint as required.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Roles and Responsibilities of the Painter include but are not limited to:
Masking of areas required for painting.
Mixing two-part paints.
Determine thinner required.
Apply coating using either conventional or airless spray method.
Measure paint thickness using gauge.
Carry out touch up where required.
Report non-conformances and assist in resolution.
Assist with in process inspection as needed.
Report any need for repairs and maintenance of workshop equipment.
Ensure all tools are used are secure and are used in a safe manner.
Comply with instructions from supervision.
Other duties, which may arise from time to time and are assigned to the employee.
Maintain proper time keeping practices.
Acquire and keep current information on work health and safety matters which include (1) Undertake initial induction training. (2) Undertake training as required. (3) Report all incidents, hazards etc.
Understand the nature and operations of the work and associated hazards and risks: Follow all workplace Job Safety Analysis's, Safe Work Procedures etc.
Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
Use and maintain all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) identified for use and provided by the PCUB. Cooperate with any reasonable instruction given by the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) and any reasonable policy or procedure of the PCBU to comply with WHS legislation
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS/ WORK EXPERIENCE The applicant is required to have at least three years hands-on experience with the application of industrial coatings and a minimum licensing requirement of confined spaces and working at heights. Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with peers and reading skills is essential.
The applicant must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude. The ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard of best work practices is a requirement.
