PARTS STRIPPER & ORDER PICKER

Rapid Car Parts is looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Parts Stripper & Order Picker to join our team.

This is a hands-on position within our automotive dismantling and parts operation. The successful applicant will be responsible for removing parts from vehicles, preparing parts for shelving and sale, picking customer orders from vehicles in the yard, and maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard.

Position Details

- Position: Parts Stripper & Order Picker
- Employment: Full-Time
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Location: Rapid Car Parts
- Forklift Licence: Required
- Experience: Automotive dismantling or mechanical experience preferred

Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Stripping
- Safely remove parts and components from vehicles in the yard.
- Strip vehicles efficiently and carefully to prevent damage to reusable parts.
- Remove engines, transmissions, panels, doors, lights, suspension components, interior parts, electrical components and other vehicle parts as required.
- Inspect removed parts and identify any obvious damage or defects.
- Prepare parts for shelving, storage and sale.
- Correctly label and organise parts once removed from vehicles.

Order Picking
- Receive work orders from sales staff.
- Locate the correct vehicle in the yard.
- Identify and remove the required part according to the work order.
- Ensure the correct part, model and specification is supplied.
- Safely transport parts from the yard to the workshop or dispatch area.
- Communicate with sales staff if a requested part cannot be located or is damaged/unavailable.
- Assist with loading and preparing parts for customer collection or freight.

Yard Organisation & Cleanliness
- Keep the vehicle yard clean, organised and accessible.




- Maintain clear walkways and safe working areas.
- Correctly position vehicles and parts within designated areas.
- Assist with moving vehicles and parts around the yard when required.
- Use a forklift safely for moving vehicles, parts, pallets and other materials where authorised.
- Remove rubbish, scrap materials and unwanted components.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

- Current Forklift Licence (LF)
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Ability to work outdoors in a busy yard environment
- Ability to follow work orders and instructions accurately
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace health and safety

Preferred:

- Previous experience in vehicle dismantling or a wrecking yard
- Mechanical or automotive experience
- Knowledge of vehicle parts and components
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience picking automotive parts or warehouse orders
