Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Pathology Collectors, to join the Pathology Collection team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Pathology Collector to join the team at Northern Health.

This position is fixed term full time with a monthly Accrued Day Off until September 2027 - covering maternity leave





This role requires the collector to be technically competent and reliable, caring and compassionate. The role includes the collection of samples from patients including blood, urine, faeces and swabs. Take delivery of samples and process them ready for pick-up by couriers. The role will also include some pre-analytical processing of blood and other samples for analysis.

Ensuring that the role is carried out in a manner that is consistent with the values, quality objectives, performance goals, delegations, policies, procedures, and operations of NPV and in line with the Northern Health “Code of Conduct”. The major duties and/or responsibilities and the Key Performance Indicators outline the scope of the position.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Certificate III/IV in Pathology Collection
- Experience and goodworking knowledge of Pathology Collection
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- The flexibility to work a7-dayweekrotating roster, this includes weekends and public holidays
- General computer skills
- Great timemanagement
- Current working with children’s check (employee)
- An unencumbereddriver's license
