About the role The Patternmaker & Cutting specialist is responsible for translating design concepts into impeccably fitted patterns and preparing garments for production with precision and efficiency. This role works closely with designers, fittings, and production teams to create custom client toiles, develop collection samples, and produce accurate patterns that uphold the brand's renowned fit and luxury standards. The role also manages cutting of fabrics for production, ensuring technical accuracy and seamless workflow to the machinists.

Key responsibilities

- Interpret designer sketches and concepts to create custom client toiles (calico samples) tailored to individual body types

- Map precise proportions, seam lines, and design details to achieve a flattering, balanced fit

- Interpret markings and pins from fittings and implement all necessary amendments

- Develop all toiles for new collection designs from initial sketches

- Complete detailed specification sheets for each style, including measurements, fabrications, fabric samples, construction notes, notions required, and fitting observations

- Create, digitise,



and amend paper patterns using Style CAD or equivalent software

- Grade patterns across size ranges and maintain an organised digital and physical pattern library

- Cut garments efficiently using fabric scissors and lay multiple layers of fabric for accuracy

- Operate electric cutting tools for intricate patterns requiring multiple layers

- Work closely with pattern team, designers, fittings, machinists, and production teams to ensure seamless handover from pattern to garment

About you

- Extensive experience in bridal or couture patternmaking

- Exceptional knowledge of garment construction, fit, and proportion

- Skilled in interpreting sketches, fittings, and technical feedback

- Advanced proficiency in Style CAD or similar digital patternmaking software

- Strong hand and machine cutting skills, with expertise in multiple fabrics, including crinoline

- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills

- Calm, team-oriented, and highly organised, with a commitment to craftsmanship and luxury standards
