About The Role The Payroll Officer is responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services for Carpentaria. This role requires a detailed working knowledge of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award, Fair Work legislation, and internal policies to ensure all employees are paid correctly, including the accurate application of penalty rates, allowances, leave entitlements, and superannuation.
The Payroll Officer processes end-to-end payroll, resolves employee queries, and collaborates with Human Resources and Finance teams to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.
About You The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related discipline — OR demonstrated equivalent experience and competency, preferably in the community sector.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the SCHADS Award (MA000100) and/or other Fair Work modern awards.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. ELMO payroll, or equivalent) with working knowledge of Single Touch Payroll (STP) Phase 2, superannuation guarantee obligations, and PAYG withholding.
- Solid numerical accuracy and high-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage workload while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
You will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid certificate and an NT Drivers Licence. Remuneration And Benefits A competitive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, including:
