- Planning Officer (Professional) Level 1B Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $119,329 - $134,463 per annum

As a Planning Officer Assessments, you'll help shape housing, infrastructure and major development projects that support the future growth of NSW. Working as part of the Housing Delivery Authority, you'll assess State significant projects, provide planning advice and help make sure decisions are informed, balanced and delivered within timeframes that matter. This is a role where your work will have a real impact. You'll collaborate with a wide range of people, solve complex problems and contribute to planning outcomes that help communities thrive.

What you'll be doing

Working with experienced planning professionals, you'll help assess major projects that support the delivery of housing, infrastructure and economic growth across NSW. You'll bring together technical information, stakeholder feedback and planning policy to help inform decisions that shape our communities.

About you

You're someone who enjoys solving problems, making sense of complex information and working with others to achieve meaningful outcomes. You can balance the detail with the bigger picture and are comfortable working across multiple projects at once.

- Help assess major development projects and make sure they meet planning, legislative and policy requirements.
- Write clear reports, briefing notes and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
- Work closely with colleagues, government agencies,



councils, industry and community stakeholders to progress assessments and resolve issues.
- Review technical information, identify key issues and provide practical, evidence-based advice and solutions.
- Help respond to enquiries and challenges with a customer-focused approach.
- Contribute to planning decisions by developing transparent and effective conditions of consent.
- Look for ways to improve processes, systems and how we work together as a team.
- Turn complex planning and technical information into plain English that people can easily understand.

Essential

- Degree qualification
- Ability to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence for regional positions
