Perth
About Us The Perth Bears are the newest expansion club in the National Rugby League (NRL), joining the competition in February 2027. Based in Perth, we move forward on the proud foundations of the North Sydney Bears and the rich story of Rugby League in Western Australia. We're a start-up club with a start-up mentality - adaptable, hands-on, and building something from scratch.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a historic NRL expansion journey and help shape the club's commercial future from day one.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a driven, relationship-first sales professional to lead outbound sales across our corporate hospitality portfolio - private suites, corporate boxes, premium dining, and match-day functions - and to grow Bears in Business, our corporate networking platform. You'll own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to contract, onboarding, and renewal, and be the face of the Perth Bears for our corporate clients on event day.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect, pitch, and close current corporate hospitality and Bears in Business across WA and national markets.
- Manage your own pipeline end-to-end from lead generation to contract, onboarding, and annual renewal.
- Build tailored hospitality packages for high value corporate clients.
- Grow and service the Bears in Business network, packaging it into existing hospitality and partnership accounts.
- Manage day-to-day budgets and invoicing for your accounts, working closely with Finance.
- Partner with our Events team to deliver flawless match day hospitality and standalone networking events.
- Be a visible, energetic host at club functions, building the relationships that keep clients coming back.
What You’ll Bring
- A proven track record in outbound B2B sales, corporate hospitality, or membership sales - ideally in sport or entertainment.
- Confidence managing a commercial budget and reporting on revenue and margin.
- Sharp negotiation, closing, and presentation skills.
- A collaborative, no-job-too-small mindset - you're as comfortable pitching a six-figure suite deal as you are helping set up for a breakfast function.
- 3-4+ years' experience in corporate sales, hospitality packaging, or B2B program delivery within sports, entertainment, or major venues.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (business, sports management, marketing) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in sport, hospitality, or club-based environments with exposure to premium membership, corporate partnerships, or hospitality products.
- Strong connections across the WA corporate and business landscape, with a proven ability to identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
Why Join Us
- Help build a foundation-era NRL club's commercial engine from scratch.
- Be part of a small, close-knit team where your work visibly shapes the club's success.
- A genuinely rare career opportunity: there's only ever one inaugural season.
- The Perth Bears are a start-up organisation in a critical foundation phase. Like other roles recruited to date, this position is intentionally hands-on and will initially operate with lean support structures.
- The corporate sales executive will be accountable for establishing, delivering, and managing the cooperate sales function, while the club grows.
This is not a role with layers of administration or inherited systems. You will be required to design processes, integrate technology platforms, build relationships, solve problems in real time, and deliver outcomes concurrently.
- Success in this role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong personal accountability, and the ability to move seamlessly between strategic planning and day-to-day execution. As the club scales, there will be opportunities to influence the future structure and resourcing of the consumer function.
How To Apply If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now with your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you’re the right person to build the Bears’ future, by 9 September 2026.
Applications will be reviewed as received, we encourage early applications, as interviews may commence prior to the advertised closing date, and the ad will be closed early should a suitable candidate be identified.
Please note that you will be sent a mandatory pre-screening questionnaire via email after submitting your application.
