About MotorActive

MotorActive is a leading Australian automotive aftermarket company representing trusted brands across the automotive industry. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of ColorSpec and drive the brand’s continued growth in the Australian automotive paint and refinish market.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Product and working closely with the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for the overall management, development and commercial performance of the ColorSpec product range.

You will be the key subject matter expert for the brand, combining hands-on automotive paint knowledge with commercial thinking to guide product strategy, technical support, new product development, training and customer engagement.

This is a hybrid role based at our Silverwater office, with three days in the office and two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute the product strategy for the ColorSpec brand.

· Manage new product development, range reviews and product lifecycle activities.

· Manage pricing, forecasting, supplier negotiations and category performance.

· Provide technical expertise and support to customers, sales teams and retail partners.

· Act as the internal and external technical authority for the ColorSpec range.

· Work with suppliers, marketing and sales teams to identify and deliver growth opportunities.

· Analyse market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback and sales performance.

· Develop product training, technical resources and educational materials for internal teams and partners.

· Support product positioning, launches, promotions and other brand growth initiatives.





· Help continue established best-practice procedures for the maintenance and management of in-store paint mixing equipment.

About You

This opportunity will suit an automotive paint qualified who has product and category management experience.

To be successful, you will bring:

· Professional experience with the confidence to take ownership of a national product range.

· Commercial awareness and an interest in product and category management.

· Hands-on experience in automotive paint, refinishing or panel and body repair.

· Practical spray painting or closely related paint application experience.

· Strong technical knowledge of automotive paint systems, colour matching and repair processes.

· Strong communication, training and relationship-building skills.

· The ability to analyse information, solve problems and convert technical insight into practical commercial action.

· A collaborative approach to working across sales, marketing, suppliers, customers and retail partners.

Previous product management, category management, technical product experience and practical automotive paint experience is essential.
