Project Engagement Advisor

Drive meaningful community engagement outcomes

An opportunity is available for an experienced Project Engagement Advisor to provide strategic communications support across community engagement, stakeholder management and issues management activities. Working closely with project teams, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping to build strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting positive project outcomes. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on engagement across infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.

What you'll be doing

- Coordinate community engagement activities across major projects
- Provide strategic communications and engagement advice to project managers
- Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies
- Design stakeholder management approaches for diverse interest groups
- Lead landholder engagement activities
- Build and maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships
- Manage emerging issues and support reputation management activities
- Act as a central point of contact for project teams on engagement matters
- Support consultation activities with community, government and stakeholder groups
- Develop engagement responses that support customer-focused outcomes

What you need to bring

- Experience managing ministerial and executive correspondence in an infrastructure-related environment
- Demonstrated ability to tailor communications for diverse audiences
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience developing strategic communication and engagement plans




- Knowledge of issues management and reputation management principles
- Ability to provide considered, practical advice to project teams
- Strong consultation and liaison skills across multiple stakeholder groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex information in a transparent, non-technical manner
- Strong listening and questioning skills to understand stakeholder needs

Bonus points for

- Experience supporting media responses and reputation management activities
- Understanding of government and regional operating environments
- Proven ability to identify insights and improve engagement outcomes
- Track record of adapting successfully in changing environments
- Experience delivering community engagement outcomes on major projects

Important to know

- This role is located in Townsville (Queensland) and will require the successful candidate to work on-site in a hybrid capacity.
