Project Engineer

Townsville, QLD Workfast is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading civil construction and infrastructure business in Townsville, QLD.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer with strong Transport and Main Roads (TMR) experience to take on a key role delivering civil infrastructure projects across North Queensland.

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in civil construction and TMR projects. You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects, working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide engineering support across civil construction and infrastructure projects.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of project works.
- Manage project documentation, quality requirements and technical records.
- Monitor project progress, costs, variations and subcontractor performance.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
- Assist with procurement, material requirements and subcontractor management.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, TMR requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
- Support quality assurance, inspections, testing and project documentation.




- Identify and resolve technical issues throughout project delivery.
- Assist with project programming, reporting and forecasting.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across project sites.

What You Bring to the Team

- Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering or project engineering roles.
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Experience working with project specifications, drawings, quality documentation and technical requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a project team.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and variations.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Ability to pass relevant pre-employment checks.
