Project Manager - Civil Infrastructure | DIDO/FIFO

$180K–$220K + project uplift | 3:1 Rosters

MCS Civil is a privately owned Australian civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering specialist civil works across the energy, rail, transport and infrastructure sectors.

Our capabilities span civil construction, earthworks, piling, foundations and concrete works, supported by experienced project teams, specialist capability and a modern, privately owned fleet. Working alongside principal contractors, utilities and project partners, we deliver projects from early site establishment through to completion, with a focus on safety, quality and successful project outcomes.

With a strong and growing pipeline of major energy infrastructure and transmission line projects across NSW, Queensland and South Australia, MCS Civil is expanding its project teams and seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of project delivery.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the successful delivery of your assigned project, from mobilisation and early works through to completion, handover and close-out.

Working closely with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Senior Supervisors, subcontractors, clients and project partners, you will lead the project team and oversee safety, quality, program, cost and commercial outcomes.

This is an chance to take ownership of major energy and transmission projects, lead experienced teams and contribute to projects that form part of Australia’s essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall accountability for safe, on-time and commercially successful project delivery
- Lead project mobilisation, establishment,



planning and execution
- Develop and manage project programs, budgets, forecasts and resources
- Manage project costs, cash flow, progress claims, variations and commercial outcomes
- Oversee procurement and subcontractor management
- Manage contractual obligations, commercial risks and project variations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, principal contractors and consultants
- Lead and develop Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and project teams
- Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and critical path activities
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and constraints
- Ensure HSEQ, contractual and project governance requirements are met
- Lead project handover, completion, defects and close-out

About You

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager delivering major civil or infrastructure projects
- Experience across energy, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure highly regarded
- Strong technical understanding of civil construction, including the ability to interpret drawings, specifications and standards
- Strong commercial and contract administration experience, including budgeting, cost control, procurement and financial reporting




- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of WHS, environmental and quality management requirements
- Excellent client, stakeholder and subcontractor management skills
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Highly developed leadership and communication skills
- Current White Card
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
- Willingness to work DIDO/FIFO rosters across regional project locations
- Australian working rights
