At Smartgroup, we're undertaking a range of high-impact business and technology initiatives that are shaping the future of our organisation. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, PM Practice, you'll lead our Corporate Squad, partnering with stakeholders across Finance, People & Culture, Legal and Technology to deliver strategic projects that drive transformation, operational excellence and business value.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on Project Manager who thrives in complex environments, enjoys leading cross-functional teams, and can successfully balance multiple initiatives while building strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic business and technology projects across multiple domains.
- Manage and coordinate the Corporate Squad, including Business Analysts, engineers, testers and delivery resources.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and operate as Scrum Master for squad activities where required.
- Drive project planning, governance, risk management, reporting and stakeholder communications.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, People & Culture and Technology to deliver business outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to team members while fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Project or program management of projects outside of the Corporate Squad as required
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex business and/or technology projects within medium to large organisations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, squads or delivery resources in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and competing deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with business process improvement initiatives, with Lean Six Sigma exposure highly regarded.
- Strong governance, planning, reporting and risk management capability.
- Scrum Master, Prince2, PMP or similar project management certifications will be highly regarded.
