The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) plays an important role in Queensland's integrity framework and is an independent statutory body that reports to Parliament. We have statutory functions and powers under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) to uphold greater and easier access to information held by government agencies, assisting agencies to understand their obligations under the RTI and IP Acts, and use our regulatory powers to improve compliance.

About the Role
As a Review Officer, you will manage the day-to-day handling of external reviews in compliance with the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), including engaging with stakeholders to gather information, provide advice, and facilitate resolution.
This includes identifying and analysing factual and legal issues, conduct statutory interpretation and research, and brief decision-makers on review directions. You will prepare clear, plain English draft decisions and correspondence, collaborate with colleagues to support organisational goals, and contribute to knowledge management resources.
