- Key responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and support to aged care residents, including assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs
- Administer medications and manage medication administration according to established protocols and legislative requirements
- Monitor residents' health status and report any changes or concerns to the care team and medical practitioners
- Assist with activities of daily living and personal care support for residents
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive resident health records and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualised care plans
- Provide wound care, catheter management and other clinical nursing interventions as required
- Support infection prevention and control measures and maintain a safe, clean environment
- Communicate effectively with residents, families and team members regarding care and wellbeing
- Respond to resident requests and concerns with empathy and professionalism
What we're looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience in aged care nursing or residential care environments (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of aged care principles, practices and relevant legislation
- Excellent clinical nursing skills and ability to provide person-centred care
- Proficiency in medication management and administration
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families and colleagues
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying workloads in a casual capacity
- Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliability and punctuality in a casual work arrangement
