About the role
The Fellow / Registrar / Senior Registrar - Epilepsy is a specialist training opportunity within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Neurology Department and Comprehensive Epilepsy Surgical Program. The role provides advanced clinical exposure to the assessment and management of patients with epilepsy, including evaluation for epilepsy surgery, advanced neurophysiology and participation in a highly specialised tertiary and quaternary referral service.
The successful candidate will work across inpatient and outpatient epilepsy services, support subspecialty clinics, perform and interpret EEG studies, and contribute to multidisciplinary patient management. The role also provides significant opportunities for research, medical education and advanced EEG training, while participating in neurology and stroke on-call rosters and broader clinical service delivery across Metro North Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values: * Assess, investigate, diagnose and manage patients with epilepsy and other neurological conditions using evidence-based clinical practice. * Contribute to specialised epilepsy surgery assessment services, including participation in advanced neurophysiology and EEG activities. * Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred neurological care.
* Support the education and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students while actively participating in postgraduate medical education programs. * Contribute to clinical research, audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives within the Neurology and Epilepsy services.
