Our client is seeking several Qualified Fitters for immediate starts with a well-established marine engineering business. This temporary role involves the overhaul, repair and installation of propulsion systems, engines, pumps, shafts and associated mechanical equipment on commercial vessels.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out mechanical repairs, maintenance and installations
- Overhauling engines, pumps, shafts and rotating equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and interpreting engineering drawings
- Completing planned maintenance and equipment testing
- Following safety procedures and quality standards
What you'll need:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Previous marine experience preferred
- Minimum 12–18 months' relevant experience
- Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience with hydraulic systems (advantageous)
- Welding skills (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Full working rights in Australia
