YOUR ROLE
In this autonomous, hands-on role leadership role with the support of 2 experienced accounts officers, you will be responsible for the firm’s entire accounting function. In particular, you will be overseeing/be responsible for:
- accounts payable/accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, month end/ EOFY reporting, trust accounting/controlled monies, cashflows, PAYG, BAS and GST, payroll, credit card transactions/reconciliations, petty cash and trust audits;
- ensuring corporate governance compliance;
- reviewing/documenting/improving accounting systems/processes;
- mentoring/training staff.

WHO YOU ARE
We are interested in hearing from you if you:
- Have a diploma/certificate/degree in accounting/bookkeeping;
- have minimum 5-20+ years hands-on experience as a bookkeeper/accountant;
- have worked for a law firm/legal industry with trust accounting experience [essential];
- have used Affinity or Locus accounting software [preferable not essential]+ have experience supervising staff [preferable];
- have solid numeracy skills+ accuracy+ keen eye for detail;
- are efficient+ deadline-driven;
- have proven ability to thrive in a busy multi-tasking environment;
- can commit LONG-TERM to a permanent full-time role.
