About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Specialist to conduct an independent and comprehensive accessibility audit of a large-scale Angular component library/design system. The role will assess UI components and their variants against WCAG 2.2 Levels A, AA and AAA , identify accessibility and usability issues, provide practical remediation guidance, and support retesting through to final conformance reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accessibility professional with strong expertise in WCAG, inclusive design, assistive technologies, front-end accessibility and design system/component library auditing .

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct an independent accessibility audit of approximately 53 UI components , including variants, states and interactive behaviours.
- Assess components against WCAG 2.2 Success Criteria – Levels A, AA and AAA .
- Perform manual and assistive technology-based accessibility testing.
- Conduct keyboard-only, screen reader, visual, colour contrast, zoom and magnification testing .
- Review correct implementation of ARIA, semantic HTML, focus management and accessible interactions .
- Test across multiple browsers, operating systems, desktop and mobile devices.




- Identify accessibility barriers and usability/inclusivity issues beyond WCAG where relevant.
- Document clear pass/fail outcomes and classify findings by severity.
- Provide detailed evidence, screenshots, code examples and practical remediation recommendations.
- Work closely with UX, design, development and accessibility stakeholders to validate findings and proposed solutions.
- Support development teams with technical accessibility remediation advice.
- Retest resolved issues and document updated outcomes.
- Prepare comprehensive accessibility audit and conformance documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience conducting qualified accessibility audits for complex digital products.
- Strong practical knowledge of WCAG 2.2 and accessibility conformance assessment.
- Experience auditing design systems, component libraries or UI frameworks .
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end accessibility .
- Hands-on experience with Angular or similar component-based UI frameworks .
- Strong experience with assistive technologies, particularly JAWS and NVDA .
- Experience with VPAT/ACR-style accessibility reporting .
- Strong understanding of inclusive design and accessibility for users with disabilities.
- Ability to translate accessibility findings into clear, practical and technically actionable remediation advice .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with UX, UI, developers, designers and technical stakeholders.

Security & Compliance
- Minimum Baseline security clearance is required.
