Role Description The Senior Bookkeeper role is a remote contract position responsible for overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for multiple clients. This includes recording and reconciling transactions, preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate journal entries and ledgers.

Qualifications

- Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate transaction recording, reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements to support informed business decisions
- Hands-on experience with accounting software and related digital tools used for small and mid-sized businesses
- Solid understanding of finance principles and practical application in day-to-day business operations
- Ability to prepare and review journal entries and ensure proper documentation and audit trail
- Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; qualified certification is an asset
- Previous experience in a senior bookkeeping or similar role, preferably serving multiple clients or industries
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a remote setting
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a team-oriented approach to client relationships
