We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Clinician to join our Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT). This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist youth mental health service, delivering early intervention support and contributing to improved outcomes for young people and their families across South-East Queensland.

Working within the internationally recognised Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) model of care, you'll have the prospect to provide expert assessment, clinical leadership and evidence-based interventions while working alongside a highly skilled, recovery-focused team.

About headspace Early Psychosis

headspace Early Psychosis provides specialist support to young people aged 12 to 25 years who are experiencing an early episode of psychosis or who may be at risk of developing psychosis. Using the EPPIC model of care, the service delivers comprehensive and coordinated support focused on early intervention, recovery and improving long-term outcomes.

About the Team

The Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) acts as the front door to the service, managing referrals, intake, triage and comprehensive assessments for young people across South-East Queensland. This role offers a unique blend of centre-based and outreach work, allowing clinicians to build strong relationships with young people, families, community partners and stakeholders across the region.

No two days are the same. You'll have opportunities to:

- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
- Develop clinical formulations and recommendations
- Support young people and families through periods of crisis
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team




- Partner with external providers and referral agencies
- Contribute to service quality and clinical governance

As the service covers both the Brisbane South and Gold Coast catchment areas, travel using fleet vehicles is required.

Roster Information

This is a shift work position operating across a 7-day roster, 364 days per year:
- Monday, Thursday and Friday: 7:00am to 6:00pm
- Tuesday and Wednesday: 7:00am to 8:00pm
- Weekends and Public Holidays: 10:00am to 6:00pm

About the Role

As a Senior Clinician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality assessment, intervention and clinical care for young people accessing the service. Working closely with the Team Leader and broader multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, support day-to-day service operations and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and respond to referrals, enquiries and intake assessments.
- Conduct telephone triage and comprehensive face-to-face assessments.
- Develop clinical formulations and evidence-based treatment recommendations.
- Present case formulations within multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide clinical leadership and shift coordination support.
- Support and mentor clinicians within the team.
- Respond to crisis presentations and urgent clinical situations.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, lived experience practitioners, case managers and functional recovery staff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and key stakeholders.
- Support young people through assessment, case management and recovery-focused interventions where required.

About You

You are a passionate and dedicated clinician who values collaboration, clinical excellence and person-centred care. You have the ability to engage effectively with young people, families and carers experiencing complex mental health challenges and are committed to supporting positive recovery outcomes.





To Be Successful You Will Bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Counselling or a related discipline.
- Current registration with AHPRA (where applicable) or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Significant experience working within mental health services.
- Demonstrated experience completing mental health assessments, risk assessments, clinical formulations and treatment planning.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced clinicians.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A reflective, adaptable and values-driven approach to practice.

Salary

$100,785 - $114,978.90 plus superannuation Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience.
