About the role

You will own credit assessment end to end across all products. Verification searches, financial statement review, commission income analysis, valuation on the property side, serviceability, security, KYC - then the credit paper and your recommendation to our Investment, Credit and Risk Committee. You will also run the monthly portfolio monitoring cycle, manage first-line arrears, and rewrite the credit policy for the portfolio from scratch, with the Portfolio Manager.

You will not be feeding an automated decisioning engine. Every deal is assessed on its merits and written up by hand, and your recommendation carries weight in the room.

Key responsibilities

- Own credit assessment end to end across all products including verification searches, financial statement review, commission income analysis, valuation, serviceability, security, and KYC
- Prepare credit papers and recommendations to the Investment, Credit and Risk Committee
- Run the monthly portfolio monitoring cycle
- Manage first-line arrears
- Rewrite the credit policy for the portfolio from scratch with the Portfolio Manager
- Liaise professionally with brokers, borrowers, and referral partners throughout the application process
- Collaborate with BDMs, loan writers, and senior credit staff to maintain efficient deal flow

About you

- Minimum 3 years assessing credit in non-bank, commercial or business banking, asset finance, invoice finance, bridging or commercial property




- Have written credit assessment papers yourself, from application to recommendation
- Read financial statements properly and comfortable in Excel
- Know your way around PPSR, GSAs, guarantees, mortgages and trust structures
- Can write clearly - papers get read by funders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with brokers and borrowers
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously under time pressure
- Relevant financial services qualifications highly regarded
- Experience managing active loan portfolios post-settlement, including arrears management, defaults, and borrower remediation is advantageous
- Unlimited work rights in Australia (mandatory)
