About the Company The company is a privately owned Australian (EPC) Engineering Procurement and Construction company known for delivering complete solutions across design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and maintenance. With expertise spanning multiple industries, they specialise in electrical balance of plant (eBOP) solutions for:

- Renewables (Wind & BESS)
- Thermal Power (Gas, Liquid Power Stations)
- Mining & Resources
- Utilities (Transmission & distribution) & Infrastructure

About the Role This role can be based in their Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney office.

Join the team to work on some of Australia's most exciting projects. Whilst the successful applicant will primarily work in our Infrastructure & Renewables divisions, there is the potential to be involved in projects across the company’s portfolio.

The Primary Engineer is responsible for providing senior-level technical engineering expertise and leadership in the development, design, delivery and optimisation of primary electrical systems and infrastructure, providing technical direction from concept and feasibility through to commissioning and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Primary Engineer, you'll design and deliver substation and power system projects to a high, construction-ready standard.

- Develop substation layouts and primary equipment schedules
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams and busbar arrangements
- Perform power system modelling, including:

Load flow and protection coordination studies Arc flash studies and reporting




- Produce detailed engineering documentation, including:

Equipment specifications Cable sizing reports (primary systems)

HV/MV cable schedules

Earthing calculations and reports

- Conduct and participate in design reviews
- Review ITC documentation and support QMS processes
- Provide technical input to tender submissions as required
- Perform RPEQ/RPEV engineering oversight where applicable
- Develop and maintain standard drawings and documentation
- Review designs to ensure compliance with standards and best practices
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff; develop and deliver internal training sessions

Highly Regarded Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Relevant experience within an EPC environment
- Familiarity with Australian utility or similar utilities standards (e.g. transmission network requirements) is highly regarded but not essential
