We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Expert Railway Systems and ETCS (m/f/d) for a consulting project in Greece. You will be responsible to advise our client’s management in the delivery of projects related to the design, acquisition and installation of railway systems in collabora-tion with both DB E&C; team members and the client to ensure profitable, safe and efficient operation. Your focus will be on steering schedules, interfaces, quality and cost for these projects.

Responsibilities

- Providing support for the monitoring of ongoing and new construction, renovation, and up-grade projects for railway systems, ensuring their smooth integration into the operational net-work.
- Implementation of a standardized Project Cycle Framework, which links design, procurement, construction, and commissioning with operational readiness
- Coordination of necessary traffic interruptions, testing, and commissioning procedures, mini-mizing the impact on services
- Provision of support for monitoring, operational verification, acceptance,



and commissioning of new systems (signalling, electrification, ETCS/ERTMS).
- Support in the preparation, submission, and documentation of project proposals for national and European funding programs, with the aim of integrating current interventions and utilizing el-igible funding
- Monitoring, analysis, and updating of the Investment Plan, including recording progress, cost developments, timetables, deviations, and readjustment needs
- Support for the preparation of progress reports, project information bulletins, and portfolio reviews for external bodies and regulatory authorities
- Definition of scopes, developing project execution plans, risk management and resource alloca-tion
- Support for the transition from construction to operation, with verification of technical files, safety files, and as-built data
- Support in monitoring projects financed or co-financed by European programs, particularly in terms of compliance with eligibility requirements, timetables, and reporting and audit obliga-tions.
- Manage project teams, delegate tasks, motivate and coach local team members
- Monitor and report progress against baselines for cost, quality and schedule
- Manage compliance with European regulations and directives for railway operation, safety and interoperability where required




- Manage expectations and resolve conflicts with stakeholders at national and international level

Qualifications

- Successfully completed university degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, project man-agement or similar and relevant professional experience in a comparable, complex role
- Experience in the conception and management of railway systems including mainline train con-trol (ETCS, proprietary ATP), wayside signalling (electronic and digital interlockings, turnouts, signals, track vacancy detection etc.), catenary systems, SCADA and telecommunication systems
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar tasks

- Minimum 5 years’ employment in a Railway Infrastructure Management (or a related company) in an environment governed by European regulations
- Certification in project management such as PMP are appreciated
- You impress with your impartial moderation skills and intercultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English mandatory; German and Greek would be an advantage
- Familiarity with Greek administrative business standards
