About the role

You will be a key part of the customer experience, providing expert advice and guiding customers through their flooring choices - from their initial enquiry and product selection through to ordering and installation. The role combines design consultation with sales, relationship building and customer coordination. You will also play an important role in maintaining an inspiring, well-presented showroom and identifying opportunities to grow sales.

Key responsibilities

- Providing personalised flooring and design consultations to retail and trade customers.
- Helping customers select flooring that complements the style, colour palette, materials and finishes of their home or space.
- Building strong customer relationships and converting enquiries into sales. Developing relationships with builders, designers and trade customers.
- Work with building plans, samples and other project information to recommend and quote on appropriate flooring solutions.
- Preparing accurate quotations and proactively following up on opportunities.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and installers to help ensure orders progress smoothly from quotation and ordering through to installation.
- Manage deposits, payments, product availability and relevant customer communications.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of timber and other flooring products.
- Assisting with the presentation and ongoing development of the Myaree showroom.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience and grow sales.

About you

- Completed, or be undertaking, a qualification, course or formal study in interior design, interior decoration or a related design discipline.




- Sound understanding of design principles and enjoy helping customers make confident decisions about colour, materials, texture and finishes.
- Experience in a customer-facing sales, showroom, design or consulting environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine interest in achieving sales results.
- The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical flooring recommendations.
- Strong organisational, planning and follow-up skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple customer enquiries at different stages.
- Confidence using computer systems and Microsoft Office.

Highly regarded:
- Experience in interior design or experience in flooring, timber, furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, window furnishings, building products or another design-focused industry.
- CIN7 or similar CRM systems and XERO knowledge.
- Experience interpreting building/floor plans and quoting.
