An established commercial property group is looking to appoint a technically capable and proactive Project Manager to deliver a diverse pipeline of projects across its portfolio.
The role will involve capital works, commercial refurbishments, speculative fit outs, amenities upgrades and broader building improvement projects. You will oversee projects from initial planning through construction, completion and handover, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and tenants.
This is not a purely administrative or consultant management position. The successful candidate will be comfortable being hands-on across both site and project coordination, actively managing programs, contractors, quality, safety and project documentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage projects from planning and procurement through to completion and handover
- Coordinate site activities, subcontractors, consultants and service providers
- Develop and maintain project programs, schedules, milestones and progress reporting
- Manage RFIs, variations, procurement, contractor performance and scope changes
- Coordinate site access, deliveries and trade sequencing
- Monitor budgets, risks, timelines and project deliverables
- Conduct site inspections, quality reviews, contractor inductions and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, building codes, approvals and company standards
- Manage works within live and occupied commercial environments
- Prepare project updates, dashboards,
risk reports and handover documentation
- Liaise with asset managers, tenants, consultants and senior management throughout delivery
You will ideally have experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager within commercial construction, refurbishment, fit out or capital works.
You will also bring:
- Strong technical construction and project delivery capability
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and day-to-day site activities
- A practical understanding of programming, procurement, RFIs and variations
- Sound knowledge of Australian construction standards, WHS and compliance requirements
- Strong documentation, reporting and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to identify risks, resolve issues and drive projects forward
- A proactive and hands-on approach with the ambition to grow within the business
Candidates with substantial overseas Project Management or Engineering experience will be considered where this is supported by solid Australian construction experience and a strong understanding of local standards, compliance and site practices.
Experience delivering projects within live or occupied environments, along with exposure to Microsoft Project or Yardi, would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of a wide-ranging commercial project portfolio and continue developing within a growing property business.
