The Senior Finance Officer role provides key data and systems analytics, as well as finance-related services and support more broadly, to ensure accurate, timely and relevant advice and reporting services are delivered to stakeholders and clients across the organisation and externally.
Key skills and experience:
- Background in finance/accounting services within a complex and geographically diverse organisational environment; with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the proven ability to interpret and evaluate financial data and reports to identify the financial impact of issues, assess options and provide informed advice.
- Demonstrated high level attention to detail with the proven ability to undertake cooperative decision making, effectively manage conflicting priorities and achieve outcomes within allocated timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to use a range of verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate financial concepts, undertake consultation, negotiate with influence, resolve conflicts, and prepare accurate reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of contemporary financial management practices, Australian accounting standards and applicable public sector financial management standards, policies and processes
- Experience in efficiently utilising financial systems and various software applications particularly Power BI, SAP ECC6 and Microsoft Excel.
Whilst not mandatory, candidates with a background and/or tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business and membership or eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body will be highly regarded.
