Opportunity
A child-centred paediatric dental service with clinics across the Perth region is looking for a Specialist Paediatric Dentist, or a General Dentist with strong paediatric experience, to join its clinical team.
The practice is set up for genuine clinical variety. Nitrous oxide sedation systems support anxious patients through routine treatment, and more complex cases are managed as day surgery under General Anaesthetic, working alongside specialist anaesthetists. Day-to-day work spans examinations, preventive care, fissure sealants, custom mouthguards, restorative treatment and emergency trauma care, with real scope to build skills in behavioural management for anxious or additional-needs patients.
Because referral pathways are already consistent, there's no cold start, you join a busy, collaborative team from your first week, with flexible start dates and relocation support available for interstate or relocating clinicians.
Key Highlights
- Nitrous oxide sedation and day-surgery GA support with specialist anaesthetists already in place
- Genuine clinical variety, prevention, restorative work, fissure sealants, mouthguards and trauma care
- Experience treating children with additional needs, including autism spectrum and sensory sensitivities, is genuinely valued
- A large, experienced clinical and support team around every clinician
- For Specialists, earning potential beyond $500,000 AUD through GA sessions
- For General Dentists, a supportive, mentoring paediatric environment with no prior GA experience required
- Flexible start dates and relocation support
About You
For the Specialist pathway, current AHPRA specialist registration in paediatric dentistry is required. For the Children's Dentist pathway,
current AHPRA general registration and genuine, demonstrated experience treating children is required, along with a calm, reassuring manner with young patients and their families.
Experience with behavioural management for anxious patients, additional needs care, or working with a culturally diverse patient base is viewed favourably, though not essential. This role suits a clinician looking for long-term development within a paediatric-focused team, whether that's a specialist building a GA caseload or a general dentist growing a paediatric career with genuine mentoring support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive paediatric dental care across prevention, restorative and emergency trauma treatment
- For Specialists, manage complex cases and General Anaesthetic sessions as day surgery in coordination with specialist anaesthetists
- Apply behavioural management techniques for anxious or additional-needs patients
- Deliver family-centred, prevention-focused care and patient education
- Collaborate closely with a large, experienced clinical and support team
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance and patient care
Location
Western Australia offers a genuinely liveable lifestyle for relocating clinicians and their families, with more affordable housing than the eastern states, good schools and an outdoor-focused, family-friendly pace of life across the Perth region.
For clinicians relocating from interstate, accommodation support is available to help make the move straightforward.
