About The Team

When you join the Infrastructure Projects team, you’ll join a group of professionals delivering Australia’s future rail network. To help grow rail transport in Australia, the team is focused on ensuring the delivery of critical construction projects across the country, including implementation of our $1 billion Network Investment Program that we’ve developed with the Australian Government. Whether it’s designing, building or maintaining crucial rail infrastructure, the team plays a pivotal role in our ongoing efforts to improve network resilience and keep the future of freight on track.

About The Prospect

As a Senior Project Engineer you will provide project management and engineering technical support to deliver capital infrastructure projects in New South Wales associated with ARTC Network Investment Program. This role plays a key part in delivering & supporting essential upgrades and expansions across the network, supporting increased capacity, reliability, and efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to project cost, safety, and quality objectives.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist in projects along the Sydney to Albury section of the ARTC Network which comprise of Interlocking and Signalling Upgrade to Enable Bi-Directional Operations (ISU) project. The proposed works include signalling and interlocking upgrades, new and removed crossovers, associated track and civil works, combined services route and cabling works, and power and communications interfaces.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To





- Provide project engineering support in the different phases of project cycle commencing from project feasibility, design development, contractor procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of the project.
- Assist the Project Manager delivering reporting on monthly costs, time and safety performance requirements for components of the project.
- Ensure project requirements are met in managing project interfaces with ARTC operations, corridor managers, external stakeholders including utility authorities, local councils, community and state agencies where required.
- Ensure compliance with ARTC’s Safety Policy and Environmental Policy requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager to undertake Operational Readiness requirements.

What do we want from you? Building on your leadership and proactive approach to safety, you will possess strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities and have demonstrated experience delivering complex capital works within an operational rail environment. You will be comfortable working across engineering, contractor management and construction delivery and coordinating multiple technical disciplines. Additionally, You Should Be Able To Demonstrate

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualification
- Eligibility for professional engineering registration in Australia
- At least 7 years proven experience in engineering maintenance, construction or project management within a multi-disciplinary engineering or linear infrastructure environment
- Extensive experience in managing and delivering capital works projects, particularly in brownfield rail construction
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
- Work Health and Safety General Induction (White Card)
- Driver’s licence – Class C

Desirable

- Strong experience in at least one rail engineering discipline,



together with demonstrated working knowledge of multidisciplinary interfaces across track, civil and signalling systems
- Experience supporting major rail possessions, testing, commissioning and operational handback activities.
- Working knowledge of Design & Construct project delivery and the respective responsibilities of the principal, designer and contractor
- Previous client-side rail infrastructure delivery or ARTC network experience.
