The Water for the Environment Branch is seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Project Officer within the Knowledge team. The role supports the coordination of monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) for environmental water programs across NSW. In this role, you will work collaboratively with Water for the Environment branch staff and MER delivery partners in the Water and Wetlands team of the Strategic Policy, Science and Engagement Group to support coordination of MER activities. You will track progress, support analysis and reporting, and provide evidence-based insights and advice to inform decision-making and improve environmental outcomes.

In this role, you will:

- review project delivery plans for MER activities from internal and external partners
- track progress of priority MER activities
- undertake data analysis, reporting and performance assessment
- participate and provide input to inter-agency MER coordination forums and governance groups
- prepare progress updates and summaries of observed environmental outcomes for a range of internal briefings and external communication materials
- provide clear, evidence-based advice to support decision-making
- work collaboratively with stakeholders across government and with delivery partners
- ensure compliance with relevant legislative and policy frameworks.





About You You are an experienced project management professional with a proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver successful outcomes in a dynamic environment. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills and can build productive relationships across a broad range of audiences.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- extensive experience managing complex projects, including planning, implementation, risk management and evaluation
- solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical, evidence-based solutions
- excellent communication, negotiation and influencing capabilities
- collaborative and adaptable approach, with a commitment to delivering positive organisational and environmental outcomes
- experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting for complex programs (preferred but not essential)
- experience in environmental water, river and wetland management (preferred but not essential)
- experience (environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, environmental engineering or a related discipline) (preferred but not essential)

Essential requirements

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
