About the role The RMH Quality and Improvement (QI) team are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Quality and Improvement Specialist with a passion for Safe, Timely, Equitable and Person-centred care to join our collaborative and supportive team. In this role, you will work closely with clinical services and colleagues across the organisation to deliver a contemporary Whole System Quality framework.

Responsibilities include supporting effective, best practice adverse event management; driving continuous improvement and innovation; and developing strategies to ensure ongoing readiness for National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards assessment and other accreditation activities.

Key Accountabilities

Partner with senior leaders and clinicians to lead a proactive, organisation-wide approach to clinical governance, quality and safety.

Lead implementation of the Integrated Clinical Governance Model, translating it into practical tools, processes and advice.

Provide expert guidance on clinical risk, patient safety,



assurance and quality improvement.

Build capability and foster a culture of accountability, learning, innovation and continuous improvement.

Work with service leaders and frontline teams to identify and implement best-practice solutions that improve healthcare delivery.

About You

Strong experience in whole-system quality, clinical governance, risk and patient safety within acute healthcare.

Minimum 5 years’ acute healthcare experience, with knowledge of improvement science and systems thinking.

Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior clinicians and executives, and model The Melbourne Way.

Skilled in project and change management, with the ability to shape and implement organisation-wide improvements.

Proactive, accountable and outcomes-focused, with a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
