Role Description This full time, Senior Quantity Surveyor role is based in the Greater Sydney Area. The position is responsible for managing project costs from early feasibility through to final account, including preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), procurement, tender assessment, contract drafting, cost plans, and detailed cost reports.
Day-to-day activities include monitoring cost performance against budgets, identifying and managing variations, assessing contractor claims, and supporting procurement and tender evaluations.
The Senior Quantity
Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to provide accurate commercial advice, ensure financial control, and support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. The role also includes mentoring junior team members,
contributing to continuous improvement of cost management processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong cost management capabilities, including Cost Control and Cost Management for complex infrastructure or related projects.
- Proficiency in Cost Planning, with experience in developing and maintaining robust cost forecasts and budgets.
- Experience preparing and analyzing BOQ (Bills of Quantities) for tenders, contracts, and project tracking.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate Cost Reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including variance and risk analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional membership or progression toward certification (e.g., RICS, AIQS).
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, data centers, mining, or similar asset-intensive environments.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in industry-standard cost estimating and project management software.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to operate autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to deadlines in an on-site project environment.
