ONBoard Solutions is looking for a Service Engineer to join our team and provide technical expertise and hands-on support to customers across Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers and getting hands-on with equipment and technology.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Service Engineer role based in Botany, NSW.

The Service Engineer will install, commission, maintain and repair a range of specialised equipment used across electronics, microelectronics, cleanroom and medical/pharmaceutical environments.

You’ll work closely with customers, internal teams and suppliers to provide practical technical solutions, troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment is operating safely and effectively.

The role includes on-site customer support, scheduled preventative maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting, customer training and detailed service reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and commission specialised equipment and software
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Service, maintain and repair equipment
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance
- Provide technical support and consultancy to customers
- Provide customer training on equipment operation and care
- Prepare detailed technical reports and document service activities
- Maintain equipment service histories and records
- Liaise with overseas suppliers and undertake technical training as required
- Provide technical support across Australia when required
- Respond to customer enquiries and assist with technical issues
- Liaise with suppliers and assist with purchasing and logistics
- Prepare quotations for consumables and stock items
- Plan upcoming customer visits, travel and service activities
- Provide regular reporting on service activities
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers
- Ensure safety, quality and company standards are consistently met

What We're Looking For





We’re looking for someone who is:

- Technically minded with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experienced in field service, including equipment installation, commissioning and customer support
- Confident providing technical support and guiding customers through issues
- Experienced in maintenance and repair of precision or specialised equipment
- A clear and effective communicator with solid reporting skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Practical, organised and solutions-focused
- Confident working with equipment, software and technical systems
- Willing to travel to customer sites across Australia as required
- Committed to safety, quality and continuous learning
- Holds a valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- An Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

Qualifications &

Experience

- A relevant trade qualification or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar) is preferred
- Previous field service or technical engineering experience is highly regarded
- Experience working with precision cleaning systems, assembly equipment or related technologies is beneficial
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments, electronics manufacturing or medical/pharmaceutical equipment is advantageous
- Experience working with specialised electro-mechanical and process equipment is beneficial
