We are seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator to join our demolition team. The successful candidate will operate excavators and other heavy machinery across a range of residential, commercial and industrial demolition projects throughout Melbourne.
This role is suited to an operator who takes pride in their work, operates machinery safely and efficiently, and understands the demands of working within active demolition sites.
Key Responsibilities
● Operate excavators and associated attachments safely and efficiently.
● Carry out structural demolition, site clearing, excavation and material handling.
● Safely demolish buildings and structures in accordance with the project scope and site requirements.
● Sort, separate and load demolition materials for recycling and disposal.
● Load trucks and assist with the movement of materials and debris around the site.
● Work around existing structures, services, workers and members of the public safely.
● Conduct daily pre-start inspections and identify any mechanical or safety issues.
● Maintain machinery and report faults, damage or maintenance requirements promptly.
● Operate machinery within manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
● Follow demolition plans, SWMS, site instructions and safety procedures.
● Assist ground crew and other trades when required.
● Maintain a clean, organised and secure work area.
● Communicate effectively with site supervisors, project managers and other workers.
● Ensure work is completed efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship.
