About the Position:

As Cook at The Lahori Lounge Restaurant, you will play a key role in preparing and cooking authentic Pakistani and Indian-style dishes to the highest standards, supporting the kitchen team to consistently deliver the restaurant’s signature flavours during busy service periods. This hands-on position is central to maintaining food quality, kitchen efficiency and the overall guest experience in a fast-paced, high-volume Pakistani restaurant workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook a range of authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine dishes, including Karahi, Biryani, BBQ items, curries,



tandoor specials and breakfast specialties, in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
2. Ensure all food is prepared, cooked and presented to consistent high standards of taste, appearance and portion control.
3. Maintain cleanliness, organisation and food safety standards throughout the kitchen in line with health regulations.
4. Assist with mise en place, stock rotation, and efficient use of ingredients to minimise waste.
5. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during peak service periods to ensure timely and accurate order completion.
6. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a positive, professional kitchen environment.

Requirements:

1. Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
2. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery plus Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.
3. Minimum 1 year experience as a cook in Indian/Pakistani cuisine.
4. Strong technical skills in preparing and cooking authentic Pakistani and Indian dishes, including knowledge of traditional spices, techniques and presentation.
5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
6. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a reliable and professional attitude.
7. Commitment to food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
