Role details The Work Health and Safety Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Occupational Violence Prevention Lead to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity The Occupational Violence Prevention Lead reports directly to the Manager, Work Health and Safety. This role provides strategic leadership and direction to the Occupational Violence Prevention Officer/s, managing and delivering comprehensive occupational violence prevention activities across the Health Service. This includes advanced training, strategic planning, OV incident reviews, coordination of OV Risk Assessments, and leading high-level projects and initiatives.
About the Team
The People and Culture Portfolio comprises of Employment Relations, Organisational Development, Work Health and Safety and Recruitment teams and provides strategic advice and support to the HHS on the strategies required for workforce supply, recruitment and retention, organisational development and work health and safety, aligned to the MHHS Strategic and Operational plan.
The People and Culture portfolio develops and implements strategies relating to the workforce so that the MHHS has the necessary skills and capabilities to meet current and future health service needs and that the organisational culture and management of people issues contributes to the optimal employee engagement and productivity.
About our Hospital and Health Service Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
