Hughenden State School was established in 1880 and is a P-12 campus in the Longreach District. It is situated 380 km west of Townsville and 320 km north of Longreach, where the district office is sited. Hughenden is the main centre of the Flinders Shire which covers an area of 41 632 sq. km. Sheep, cattle and grazing are the main industries in the shire, with Queensland Rail, Shire Council and local businesses the major employers.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: * Educational Leadership: Support the Principal in developing and implementing a shared educational vision focused on high-quality learning outcomes for every student, while deputising for the Principal when required. * Ethical and Inclusive Leadership: Demonstrate values-based,
