About the role

The People & Safety Officer will work with senior leadership to establish targets for improvement in Human Resources, Stakeholder Engagement, and WHSE Compliance across all departments. The role supports the Hynash Group, which consists of multiple operating arms including Hynash Constructions Pty Ltd, Hynash Haulage Pty Ltd, Hewitt Holdings Bathurst Pty Ltd and Hynash Demolition & Asbestos Removal Pty Ltd. The role is targeted for candidates who want to growth into a management and leadership position.

Key responsibilities

- Help ensure all people within the organisation have a explicit understanding of their roles and responsibilities, and communicate to stakeholders the roles of leadership and structure of the organisation

- Support and facilitate the recruitment process for the organisation by actively engaging business leaders and supervisors to understand role requirements and develop strategies to attract long-term applicants

- Support and facilitate the health and safety process and compliance for the organisation by actively engaging business leaders and supervisors to develop strategies to achieve above industry standard outcomes

- Support and actively engage in the development and implementation of procedures for internal and external communications and engagement, guiding brand and strategy delivery via appropriate media channels

- Provide mentoring and talent development guidance to all staff who manage people in the organisation and be active and available to all levels of the business to encourage open communication

- Maintain positive external relationships with service providers, industry representatives and government organisations who interact with people and customers





- Control the process and documentary compliance of all HR related activities including inductions, training registers, employee files and performance management records

- Continually assess the performance and skills of the workforce and recommend investments to upskill the workforce

- Actively participate in regular management meetings and provide feedback on performance and potential risk within all departments

- Work collaboratively with other department managers and personnel to ensure the strategic objectives of the group can be achieved

About you

- Minimum 2 years' experience in HR or personnel related roles

- Minimum 2 years' experience in operations in heavy industry

- Qualifications in Communications, Management and/or HR highly regarded

- Minimum Class C drivers licence is essential

- Strong communication skills

- Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic planning ability

- Demonstrated experience in training and coaching staff

- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others

- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
