About The Role The Strategy and Performance division shapes and safeguards the direction, integrity and performance of South Australia’s public education system. By leading system-wide strategy and providing trusted insight and advice, we align evidence, policy and engagement to strengthen the system and solve complex challenges - enabling schools and preschools to support every child and young person to learn and thrive.

The Strategic Data Initiatives Directorate works with schools, preschools and partners across the department to transform evidence into action that improves outcomes for children, young people and the education system. The Directorate leads strategic evidence initiatives, school-facing evidence products, evidence and collection design, engagement, and governance that strengthens the quality, integrity and use of data and evidence.

The Head, Governance and Delivery provides high-level specialist leadership for the Directorate's governance,



portfolio management, delivery assurance and operating rhythm. The role designs and embeds proportionate governance and assurance arrangements, translates strategy into an integrated work program, and provides authoritative advice on priorities, dependencies, capacity, risk and delivery confidence.

Working with considerable autonomy and in close partnership with the Director and Directorate leadership team, the role leads the Governance and Delivery function and provides functional leadership across multidisciplinary initiatives. It creates clear decision pathways, disciplined delivery practices and reliable visibility of progress, while enabling teams to respond to emerging priorities without unnecessary process.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil

Desirable: A tertiary qualification in governance, project or program management, public policy, data or information management, or a related discipline.

Relevant professional certification or accreditation is also desirable.

Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.





The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

SS1 $144,421 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)
