About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our team working in a busy precast concrete yard in Melbourne. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for preparing, assembling and fixing reinforcement steel for precast concrete elements. You will work from structural and reinforcement drawings and ensure steel and reinforcement assemblies are accurately fabricated and ready for concrete production.

The role is ideal for a Steel Fixer who enjoys working in a controlled yard environment while being part of a productive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret structural and reinforcement drawings.
- Cut, bend, assemble and tie reinforcement steel.
- Fabricate reinforcement cages and assemblies for precast elements.
- Install reo bars, mesh, ligatures, starter bars and other reinforcement.
- Position and secure reinforcement accurately to specifications.
- Work with production and precast teams to meet daily targets.
- Ensure reinforcement is completed to required quality and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Follow all WHS procedures, SWMS and site requirements.
- Use hand tools and relevant equipment safely and correctly.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.

About You





To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Steel Fixer, preferably within a precast environment.
- Experience fabricating and tying reinforcement cages.
- Ability to read and understand structural/reinforcement drawings.
- Good knowledge of steel fixing methods and reinforcement requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A valuable understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual work throughout the day.
- White Card.
- Relevant tickets, licences or qualifications will be highly regarded.

What We Offer

- $55.00 - $60.00 based on experience.
- Travel Allowance per day $22.44
- Meal Allowance - $19.00 per day (only applicable after 9.5 hours)
