Store Person – Rottnest Barge Service

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Storeperson to join our team supporting the Rottnest Barge Service, operating from our facility in North Fremantle.

This is a practical, customer-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy warehouse and logistics environment and takes pride in keeping things organised, safe and running efficiently

About the role

As the Storeperson, you will be responsible for the day-to-day receiving, processing and dispatch of freight travelling to Rottnest Island, as well as supporting customers, delivery drivers and barge operations. This is a practical, customer-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy warehouse and logistics environment and takes pride in keeping things organised, safe and running efficiently. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm or 9:00am to 4:00pm, although hours may vary depending on barge schedules, operational requirements and seasons.

Occasional

Saturday work may be required in Peak Season.

Key responsibilities

- Receive, check and process incoming freight through Flowcentric, our custom logistics software.
- Ensure all freight is correctly labelled, packaged and prepared for transportation to Rottnest Island.
- Release barges from Flowcentric once they have departed and ensure all relevant vehicles are correctly charged.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service both face-to-face and over the phone.




- Process credit card bookings for shippers and customers who do not have an account.
- Assist delivery drivers to ensure freight is received and dispatched efficiently.
- Ensure forklift gas bottles are full and equipment is ready for the start of each day.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised warehouse, surrounding areas and gardens.
- Ensure the site, buildings, equipment and property are secure at the end of each day and protected from weather.
- Forward booking and pricing enquiries to the Operations Manager.

About you

- Reliable, punctual and comfortable with early morning starts.
- Organised and able to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Customer-focused with good communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
- Physically capable of handling freight and working in a warehouse workplace.
- Safety-conscious and willing to follow established procedures.
- Computer literate and able to learn systems such as Flowcentric.
- Proactive, practical and willing to help wherever required.
- Previous warehouse, logistics, freight or transport experience is highly regarded.
- A forklift licence is required.
