Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 2 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 65 tonnes of gold. In 2025, Sepon produced 7,000 tonnes of copper and 6.0 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2026 is over 5.7 tonnes of gold and 11,400 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With assets in both gold and copper and a number of feasibility studies underway, a ramp-up in exploration activity is progressing. The future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

This role is based in Laos PDR.

In support of this growth, we are looking for a Superintendent – Mine Operations to join our team, deliver on our growth plans and be part of this exciting future.

The Superintendent – Mine Operations reports to the Senior Superintendent – Mine Operations. This role is responsible for the direct supervision of major mining contractors to safely and efficiently deliver the open-pit mine plan. Working closely with a Lao National Superintendent, the role will align contractors with production targets, maintain safe production and oversee site dewatering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide direct supervision and performance oversight of mining contractors undertaking drill and blast, load and haul, and dewatering activities.
- Ensure short-term mine plans are achievable, clearly communicated and understood by mining contractors.
- Monitor progress against production plans and budgets, reporting and escalating significant deviations.
- Lead, monitor and mentor the team responsible for site dewatering activities both LXML dewatering crew and contractors dewatering team to compliance with site standard and production required.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets,



quarterly forecasts, monthly reports and cost-variance reporting.
- Design and implement safe operating standards and hold contract partners accountable for compliance with site requirements.
- Maintain robust systems for measuring and reporting production, safety and non-compliance metrics to support accurate and defensible contractor payments.
- Contribute to tender scopes, assessments and contract-award processes in conjunction with the Contracts team.
- Identify, quantify and manage operational risks and opportunities to support organisational goals and successful contractor outcomes.
- Build solid relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers to reduce risk and maximise contract value.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

- Degree in Mining Engineering is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in open-pit mining, including considerable exposure to contractor management, supplier engagement and governance.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or superintendent-level role leading operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of open-pit mining practices, mobile plant capabilities, safety and risk management.
- Experience in both operational and supervisory mining-support roles is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, pipelines and dewatering systems, particularly in tropical wet-season conditions.
- Proven leadership, planning, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.
- Experience across multiple mine sites, commodities and operating environments, including working with Chinese contractors, is advantageous.
