The Opportunity

PKF is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Consulting team.

This role will be based in our Sydney office, while supporting and advising a portfolio of clients across the Newcastle region. As part of the role, you will be expected to travel to Newcastle from time to time to meet with clients and strengthen key relationships.

As a trusted advisor, you'll work alongside a highly regarded team of specialists, providing strategic and commercially focused tax advice to a diverse portfolio of corporate, private and family business clients. You'll enjoy direct exposure to clients, work closely with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in driving exceptional outcomes for businesses across a range of industries.

What You'll Be Doing

- Providing high-quality tax consulting and advisory services to corporate, private and family business clients.
- Advising on corporate tax matters, business structuring and restructures.
- Supporting due diligence engagements and transaction-related tax advice.
- Delivering advice across tax consolidations, permanent establishments, tax treaties, capital gains tax and Division 7A.
- Assisting clients with tax governance and tax effect accounting matters.
- Advising on international tax issues including Pillar Two, CFCs, hybrid mismatch rules and thin capitalisation.




- Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings both strong technical capability and a genuine passion for client service and relationship building.

You will have:

- CA or CPA qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years' local experience as a Tax Manager within a professional services setting.
- Experience delivering tax consulting and advisory services to business clients.
- Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
- Experience reviewing and managing technical work prepared by junior staff.
- Previous experience within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting/advisory firm (highly regarded).
- CTA or Master of Tax qualification (desirable but not essential).
- A passion for networking, relationship building and business development.
- A willingness to travel periodically to Newcastle to meet with clients.
