What you'll be doing The Brighter Beginnings Program is a collaboration between NSW Health and NSW Department of Education in the delivery of preschool health and developmental checks. The Brighter Beginnings Paediatric team leader will have responsibility for:

- Developing, coordinating, and implementing a district model of care to deliver health and development checks to identified target age groups in the pre-school setting.
- Providing line management to the Brighter Beginnings senior allied health clinicians.
- Building capacity of SNSWLHD allied health clinicians, early childhood educators and other identified staff to deliver appropriate health and developmental checks.
- Working in partnership with the Child & Population Programs Manager, other local health districts and the Ministry of Health Policy Branch to develop a state-wide model of care.
- Providing education, training, and clinical supervision to paediatric allied health staff and early childhood educators.

Selection Criteria

1. A degree in a relevant allied health profession with current AHPRA Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership of recognised skilled governing body, for non AHPRA registered professions.
2.



Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience of paediatrics and child development, and an understanding of Early Childhood policy and practice in relation to early intervention. This includes knowledge and experience working with children 0-5 and their families.
3. Demonstrated understanding of child development and the use of screening tools and assessments, used with young children. Knowledge and understanding of the health response to preschool screening, knowledge of onward referral health pathways including experience with care planning/case management.
4. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and computer skills and an ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
5. Proven clinical leadership capabilities with the ability to provide consultancy advice, education and support to individuals, their families, allied health and nursing staff, and other health professionals.
6. Demonstrated supervisory or leadership skills including consultation, negotiation, supporting and mentoring.
7. Demonstrated ability to implement, coordinate, lead, evaluate and report on a district wide multidisciplinary service.
8. Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
