We work alongside industry, government and communities to strengthen tourism businesses, build workforce capability and support the sustainable growth of Queensland’s visitor economy.
About the opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Tourism Workforce Connect Manager to lead an exciting statewide workforce initiative supporting Queensland’s tourism industry.
You’ll lead the delivery of the Seasonal Mobility and Staff Accommodation Exchange (SMASE) — a 24-month pilot designed to tackle some of tourism’s biggest workforce challenges by better connecting workers, employers, accommodation and transport across Queensland.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex, government-funded statewide project
- Manage a team of Tourism Workforce Connect Coordinators
- Drive project governance, budgets, risk, compliance and reporting
- Oversee the development and implementation of a digital workforce exchange platform
- Build strong partnerships across government, industry, tourism regions, councils, employers and service providers
- Lead monitoring, evaluation and the roadmap for future scaling
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong project or program leadership experience
- Experience delivering government-funded or complex multi-stakeholder projects
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Strong governance, financial and reporting capability
- Confident people leadership and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach
