Raptor Plant Hire is a growing Pilbara-based business providing heavy equipment hire, workshop and site services to the mining, civil and construction industries. We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to join our Karratha workshop team, working alongside our experienced diesel fitters and mechanics.
About the role
This is a hands-on position supporting fitters with the servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy earthmoving and mining equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting fitters with servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Cleaning and preparing machinery for workshop work
- Removing and installing components under fitter supervision
- Washing down and detailing equipment
- Parts collection and workshop errands
- Maintaining tools, equipment and workshop areas
- General yard and workshop duties
- Assisting with loading and unloading equipment and parts
- Following Raptor's safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised workplace
About you
- Is mechanically minded and enjoys working around heavy equipment
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to work
- Can take direction and work effectively alongside qualified tradespeople
- Has a positive, practical attitude
- Takes pride in keeping the workshop clean and organised
- Is physically capable of performing hands-on workshop duties
- Holds a current driver's licence
- Is Karratha-based or willing to relocate to Karratha
- Previous experience around earthmoving equipment, trucks, mining equipment or mechanical workshops will be highly regarded, but a trade qualification is not required
- A forklift, dogging, rigging or other relevant high-risk work licence would also be an advantage
