The Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) is an independent integrity agency, established under the Freedom of Information Amendment (Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner) Act 2017, that promotes the rights and upholds information rights in Victoria.

As an integrity agency, OVIC has combined oversight of privacy, information security and freedom of information in Victoria, administering both the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (PDP Act) and the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).

Role Description

The ICT Officer is an operational technical position that provides day-to-day ICT support,



administration and problem-solving across OVIC's ICT infrastructure and operations. Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager, the role provides hands-on technical support and contributes to the delivery of ICT projects and initiatives under the guidance of the ICT Operations Manager.

At the VPS Grade 3 level, the ICT Officer is expected to work independently on routine and moderately complex technical tasks, applying established procedures, standards and practices to resolve issues and support business operations. Higher-risk, complex, security-sensitive or escalated matters are referred to the ICT Operations Manager for direction and resolution.
