The Electrical Safety Office is recruiting for a Manager Supply and Networks. The responsibilities of role include the management of governance and oversight of electricity entities' safety management systems as well as activities to ensure regulatory compliance in the prescribed entities and auditor space.

The position will develop and deliver compliance programs and necessary interventions to ensure risks related to electrical assets are appropriately managed.

The role has a number of direct reports and leads a small team.

The Electrical Safety Office is looking for a Manager Supply and Networks to join the Supply Networks and Licensing Unit.

In this role you will work autonomously and lead a Supply and Networks team within the Electrical Safety Office in providing regulatory services to improve the electrical safety performance of the electricity transmission, distribution, and rail networks. You will be responsible for the management of governance and oversight of electricity entities' safety management systems as well as activities to ensure regulatory compliance in the prescribed entities and auditor space.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assist the Director in developing and leading the strategic direction with regard to regulatory strategy, framework and operations for the electricity supply industry and private electricity networks.
- Manage the regulation of electricity generation, transmission,



and distribution networks; prescribed electricity entities; and high voltage and hazardous area installations under the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
- Manage a small team in a challenging and changing environment and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and service delivery excellence.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders including the electricity supply industry, prescribed electricity entities, rand other regulatory authorities and departments.
- Analyse reports, proposals and other documents submitted for the Director's consideration and/or approval and provide advice to the Director on the alignment of the recommendations with the strategic direction and goals of the Electrical Safety Office.
- Establish and maintain structured and informal networks to effectively monitor and report to the Director on changes or trends in the broader setting.
- Monitor corrective and preventative actions arising from audits, investigations, and reviews.
- Oversee the auditor accreditation frameworks and safety management systems program for Prescribed Electrical Entities ensuring legislative compliance and continuous improvement.

The role reports to the Director Supply Networks and Licensing. The person will be appointed as an inspector under the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
