Position Description
This Service Technician position is an on the tools role where you'll be carrying out scheduled servicing, warrantee and breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on the company's range of mobile cranes. Mechanical experience working on heavy vehicles or ideally some other type of construction, agricultural or heavy-duty machinery is required. Someone who understands heavy vehicles and/or mobile equipment technically and can use that knowledge to learn and work on the company's own range of top-quality mobile lifting equipment.
You'll be responsible for:
- Carrying out scheduled services, preventative maintenance and repairs on pick & carry cranes.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Working to company systems and directives including all paperwork and safety protocols.
- Participating in company paid/supplied skills and technical training activities.
- Assisting with field and offsite repairs when/if required.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high-standard and checking/testing of all work before finishing job.
- Working autonomously and at times in small teams.
- Liaising with customers, work colleagues, managers and other internal departments in a professional manner at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical trade qualification.
- Strong hands-on experience with heavy vehicles as a minimum, ideally experience with some type of machinery, crane experience is very-highly regarded.
- Good electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.
- Diagnostic and fault-finding skills with engines and mechanical systems.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleague's and other internal departments.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A willingness to learn new skills and develop you own abilities when involved with company training.
- Australian Citizen or Permanent resident preferred, however open to sponsor an experienced Crane Mechanic, but you'll have to be able to impress me.
